Hello , Due to the incessant rains for the last several days, the situation in the capital Delhi is becoming uncontrollable. The water of the Yamuna river is flowing almost 2 meters above the danger mark, which is a matter of great concern.

Most of the rivers are in spate due to heavy rains across northern India for the past several weeks. The condition of the hilly areas is even worse and flood situation has prevailed in many places in the plains of North India as well. Yamuna’s water is already running above the danger mark due to water released from Hathinikund barrage and there is a possibility of rain in the coming week as well, so the difficulties of Delhiites may increase further.
Latest Updates DELHI FLOOD:-
As per the latest information, Okhla, Wazirabad, Chandrawal water treatment plants have to be closed due to rising water level. Because of this, there may be water shortage in some areas of Delhi. The Delhi Police has imposed Section 144 in the low-lying areas around the Yamuna and people are strictly prohibited from going near the Yamuna. NDRF teams are engaged in rescue operations and people are being shifted from low risk areas to safer places.
Flood 45 years ago :-
Delhi was flooded 45 years ago in the year 1978 and there was a terrible devastation then. But now the situation is under control, but it is very important to be careful. In view of the situation, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah informing him about the situation and appealed for cooperation. The Government of India is also engaged in dealing with the situation with full force.
